Bharat Bijlee, one of the leaders in the electrical engineering industry in India, has an annual turnover of Rs.760 crore. It operates in the segments of transformers, electric motors, elevator systems, drives and turnkey projects (switchyards). The company has over 1400 employees and has its manufacturing facilities in Airoli, Navi Mumbai.

Bharat Bijlee enjoys a clear industry leadership in the 220KV power transformers segment and has an annual capacity of 15,000 MVA. Its range includes power transformers, generator transformers, unit auxiliary transformers and special application transformers.

As part of the company’s focus on providing international standard products to its global and Indian customers, the company’s director Mr. J R Danani today inaugurated Transformers (T1) plant.  The new state-of-the-art plant’s total pressurized-air ‘clean room’ environment enables the manufacture of quality high-voltage products and is equipped with modern vapour-phase plants and large winding machines. The epoxy flooring permits transformers weighing 200 tons to be moved on a cushion of air by a single operator using aero-casters and the plant has been specially designed to achieve high productivity with low cycle times.
