Overview Magnet Technology Machines

The Magnet Machine Technology (MTM) portfolio comprises special permanent magnet rotating machines for applications such as elevators and motion control.

These include the GreenStar range of magnet gearless machines for elevators (home, passenger and goods) suitable for various suspension and mounting configurations.

Since 2007, we have collaborated with Permagsa, headquartered in Etxarri (Navarra), Spain, a technology company specialising in permanent magnet synchronous motors. We also support Permagsa’s sales and marketing efforts to serve customers and markets worldwide.

The GreenStar range of magnet gearless machines for elevators is compact, durable and quiet. The design philosophy is always to optimise around the parameters that maximise passenger ride comfort.

GreenStar is environmentally friendly, and offers real savings in energy consumption, space and routine maintenance; together these contribute to a significant reduction in cost of ownership Our permanent magnet elevator machines bear CE marking.

We leverage our domain understanding of elevators – gained from manufacturing elevators under the brand Olympus between 1973 and 2004 – to provide in-depth support to our customers. We provide lifetime support - even beyond warranty through selection, commissioning and trouble-shooting advice, technical seminars, and a network of authorised service partners. Our ServiceLINE help centre at Airoli monitors and escalates open call-backs, and is supported by a comprehensive quality assurance framework.

Also available from the MTM product portfolio is the SynchroTorq® range of synchronous AC servo motors, from 50 Nm to 280 Nm. These are suitable for applications that demand rapid dynamic response, and high positioning and torque control in industries such as plastics, metals, packaging and printing.

A new plant for Magnet Technology Machines at the Airoli campus commenced operations in May 2018, and was expanded in 2021. The facility is certified as a Green Building (Gold Standard) by IGBC (Indian Green Building Council). It has clean-area facilities, line, type and reliability testing capability, and is designed to maximise flow. Production capacity is scalable for further expansion by the modular design and layout.

GreenStar® product range

• GreenStarMAX® extends our range of PMSM gearless solutions to rated loads of up to 5000 kg: the right machine for your goods, stretcher and car elevators.
• GreenStarMINI® is ideal for home elevators in bungalows and penthouses. It is compact and facilitates installations with a minimum of space and civil work.
• GreenStarBELT® is designed for elevators with belt suspension, and ensure a smooth ride and low noise. It can be used for home elevators as well as commercial elevators.
